Runners do Raglan proud.

Sports Journalist

On a sunny Friday afternoon, Raglan travelled to Forty Hall to participate in a cross country race, 30 schools were competing.

First up was the girls’ race, there was a buzz of excitement in the air as they got into position.  The whistle blew, and the girls were off! They were doing well, they raced up the hill  and were near the front. They were overtaking a lot of girls, which took them nearer and nearer to the leaders (St. Monicas). The girls were doing very well and never gave up.  We were there cheering them on as they crossed the finishing line, tired but happy and proud with their efforts.

Next, was the boys’ race, who were looking nervous, but determined. The whistle blew, and the boys started strongly. They powered ahead to get to the front. Again St Monicas were in the lead but the boys persevered and were running well. The pace was fast and soon the boys had crossed the finish line. Although exhausted they gave 100% and could hold their heads high!
