Our attendance figures are usually above the national average due to systems we operate to maintain them. If genuinely ill, please refrain from sending your child to school. If your child is unwell or is going to be late due to a medical appointment, please call or email the school before 9.30am to advise. After this point it will be marked as an unauthorised absence and we will attempt to contact you to follow up the absence.

Exceptional Leave of Absence/ Requesting for Authorised Absence‚Ä®

Leave of absence will not be authorised unless it is exceptional such as a one-off issue or event. The application form is available from both the offices. We will not authorise requests where the reasons provided are for financial reasons. Exceptional circumstances usually include bereavement or a severe illness of close family.

Attendance

Attendance is monitored closely and we will keep you informed of your child’s attendance via their progress reports. You will receive a letter if your child’s attendance falls below 85%. The Education Welfare Officer for Enfield visits the school regularly and children with attendance below 85% are discussed and monitored.

Did you know?

If your child has an attendance of 85% every year through their primary education, they will miss the equivalent of an entire year at school.
