Katherine Hart (Course leader)

Katherine is a music specialist at the Raglan schools and graduated from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in 2011 with a B.Mus Hons degree.  She also completed a masters degree in 2012 at the Royal College of Music, where she was an RCM scholar, supported by the Arthur Wilson trombone award and the Henry Wood trust. At the RCM she studied trombone with Lindsay Shilling and Byron Fulcher; at the Guildhall, she studied with Peter Gane.  She then followed her Masters by completing  a PGCE in primary education. Katherine has performed with the Philharmonia Brass Quintet and South Bank Sinfonia, in the West end show ‘Elf the Musical’ as well as the National Youth Jazz Orchestra and the London Jazz Orchestra. 

Ryan Linham (Ensemble leader)

Ryan Linham graduated in 2014 with First Class Honours as a Foundation Scholar at the Royal College of Music, London. He was appointed the trumpet position in the New European Ensemble (Den Haag) that year, and has begun to forge a successful freelance career in the UK, performing as guest Principal trumpet with the BBC Symphony Orchestra, London Symphony Orchestra, London Philharmonic Orchestra and BBC National Orchestra of Wales, plus performing as an extra with the English National Opera and the Royal Ballet Sinfonia.

Ryan is an active educator and composer/arranger, and the manager of the Symphonic Brass Ensemble Kensington Brass. Highly passionate about Brass chamber music, Ryan has been a member of many successful ensembles, and is also currently the resident arranger for 3 groups and a residential course The Brass Academy. Ryan is currently teaching Trumpet at Aldro Boy’s Preparatory School and Charterhouse School in Surrey.

Emily Allen (Brass and percussion Specialist)

Emily began her studies at the Guildhall in 2004, prior to this she was a member of the National Children's Orchestra, National Youth Sinfonia and the Northants County Youth Orchestra and Concert Band. She completed a master's degree at the Guildhall in 2009 and subsequently became a chamber music fellow.

Since then, Emily has performed with the National Concert Orchestra of Great Britain, London Contemporary Orchestra, University of London Symphony Orchestra and as a performer and mentor on the London Symphony Orchestra 'On Track' scheme.

More recently she has spent time in Portugal with the Codigo Dance Company, toured with the singer Paul Potts, worked with the Philharmonia Orchestra's Brass Quintet and taken part in the legendary Thursford Christmas Spectacular.

Emily is assistant director of Music at the Aldro School for boys.

Rebecca Hart

Rebecca is our woodwind specialist and works as a primary school teacher based in York. She attended the University of York to read Music in 2010 and graduated in 2014 with a first class honours degree. Following this, she completed a PGCE in Primary  Education at York St John University. During this time she led many projects and co-ordinated primary festivals across York. Rebecca has been working as a primary school teacher for four years now and has taught in both KS1 and KS2. She also runs several musical clubs at her school including a choir and samba band. She has also taught woodwind instrumental lessons for the past 8 years.

Frankie Kuttin

Frankie is a dedicated sports coach at the Raglan schools where she has worked for the last four years. Frankie has gained a level 5 certificate in primary school physical education specialism. Aswell as our sports coach, Frankie plays a pivitol part in our pastoral team as she is first aid trained and will be ensuring all of our children are safe. Frankie leads physical education lessons at Raglan and runs several after school clubs. She also goes on the year six residential PGL visits to activity centres and our annual Cardiff sports tour. Frankie is a keen traveller and diver in her spare time and we look forward to having her on the course.
