Do you have what it takes to be a Raglan Sports Journalist?

At Raglan we take our sports teams very seriously and we want the world to know about it.   Every year we select 8 talented children from Year 6 to become our Sports Journalists.

What does a Raglan Sports Journalist do?

  • Combine your love of writing with a passion for sport.

  • Attend sports events throughout the year.

  • Conduct interviews with players and teachers.

  • Write and publish articles for the Raglan Sports News.

What are the benefits of being a Raglan Sports Journalist?

  • You get a Sports Journalist badge to wear with pride.

  • An Access All Areas pass to our sporting events.

  • A guaranteed place on the Cardiff Sports Tour.

  • An Invitation to the Christmas Sports Journalists' Party.

  • Have your work published on the school website and Twitter.

How do I apply?

  1. Write a short paragraph (5 sentences max) explaining why you would be a committed, informative and compelling sports journalist.

  2. Write an article reporting on one of your favourite sporting events (No longer than 1 page). For example:

    • It could be your favourite sports team or athlete

    • It could be yourself,  a friend or someone in your family competing in a team or individual event.
