Assessments 2018
We are pleased with our assessment results this year, which are a result of the children’s hard work and their teachers and support staff. There are now statutory assessments in Reception, Year 1, Year 2 and Year 6, with a new times tables assessment coming next year for Year 4.
In Reception, 79% of pupils at Raglan achieved a “Good Level of Development” This is above the national average of 71% for last year and above the local authority average of 70%.
Year 1 completed the Phonics Check with 82% of pupils at Raglan achieved the expected standard which is broadly in line with the national average.
Year 2 sat the tests in May which are used to support the teacher assessment. At Raglan pupils achieved broadly in line with the national average:
75% of pupils achieved the expected standard in Reading
71% of pupils achieved the expected standard in Writing and
76% of pupils achieved the expected standard in Maths
Year 6 sat tests in Reading, Maths and Grammar (Spelling/Punctuation) with the Writing assessed by teachers. At Raglan pupils achieved above the national average with 69% of pupils achieving the expected standard in all three areas of Reading, Writing and Maths. The national average is 64% this year. Across the subjects
77% of pupils achieved the expected standard in the Reading test.
82% of pupils achieved the expected standard in Writing (teacher assessment)
85% of pupils achieved the expected standard in the Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling Test
82% of pupils achieved the expected standard in the Maths test.
