From time to time we offer training at Raglan to other professionals working in schools and education. This varies from CPD courses held at Raglan to consultancy work with one of our specialist staff. 

Breaking Barriers - A Maths intervention for SEND pupils

Breaking Barriers is a medium to long term numeracy support programme to support SEND/SpLD children with maths difficulties. This is a structured approach to teaching and learning for identified individuals that takes place every maths lessons.

Music

Samantha Ojokor - Head of Music and SLE (Specialist Leader of Education)

Sam offers a range of support, either bespoke to match your needs or via courses held at Raglan. Teachers often visit Sam to see her teach. 

A range of support includes: Jolly Music Training, Assessment, Delivering Effective Singing Assemblies, Improving Singing, Charanga training, Curriculum Planning and Development, Whole Class Instrumental and Vocal Tuition, Music in EYFS, Preparing for Ofsted, Training a choir, Year 6-7 transition.

Sam Ojokor 

Samantha is the Head of Music at The Raglan Schools’ in Enfield and Primary School Music Representative on the Enfield Music Hub Advisory Board. Before taking up this post she worked for Newham Academy of Music in a variety of roles: Music Specialist, Advisory Teacher and CPD trainer for Secondary NQT Induction Programme. She has been a mentor for Trinity Guildhall/OU KS 2 CPD Programme (2007-2011) KS2 teacher trainer for The London Symphony Orchestra On Track programme (2008). She also has 10 years experience as a secondary Music Head of Department.

Going Google

Raglan has gone Google! All our staff and Key Stage 2 pupils now use GSuite an amazing free resource from Google providing key tools for learning and organisational tools to support teachers in their busy day. Pupils access GSuite via Chromebooks, iPads and Macs as well as having access from home. 

Martin Kelsey, Headteacher at Raglan has led the change and innovation and offers support to other schools who are considering or have moved to Gsuite.

Google Forms  - Monday 5th November 4pm-5.30pm

  • Create surveys or quizzes

  • Create AFL tasks, entry and exit assessments

  • Create pupil, parent and teacher surveys

  • Eliminate reply slips, go digital for quick parent responses

  • Add different types of questions

  • Add video, images and sections

  • Create different pathways depending on the answers

  • Download to Google Sheets and analyse

Martin Kelsey is the Headteacher of The Raglan Schools and has been a teacher for 25 years and a Headteacher in three schools. In recent years Martin has led the change at Raglan in using Google for Education tools, now rebranded as GSuite.

Martin is a Level 2 Google Certified Educator and is currently working towards becoming a Google Certified Trainer.
