Parent Governor Elections - Don't forget to Vote - Closes Today!
There are 12 parents nominated for the Infant School Election and 8 parents for the Junior School Election. You can find all the candidates’ personal statements on the website here. You should have now received a letter from the school with your unique security code, so you can vote online. If you are a parent of a child in the Infant School you are eligible to vote in the Infant School election and the same rule applies to the Junior School election. If you are a parent of a child in both , then you may vote in both elections. When ready, you can VOTE HERE. Voting closes Thursday 24th May at 3.20pm
Evening/Weekend Classes
The school hosts a variety of evening and weekend classes for adults and children from keep fit to ballroom dancing to indoor football. For a list of classes, please visit the website
Half Term Camp
This half term Leslieess will be running a half term camp. Bookings for Tuesday to Friday can be made via the website leslieessltd.co.uk or email leslieessilfie@hotmail.co.uk. Activities for the week will be nerf games, archery, fencing, football and performing arts. Drop ins are available on the day. We look forward to seeing you there.
Sports Days 2018
There are changes to Sports Days this year, so below is advance notice of the dates. Firstly, some exciting news for Year 5/6 pupils as will be holding our Sports Day at the Lee Valley Indoor Athletics Centre. Further details will follow after half term but we are looking forward to a thrilling day of activities. There is also a change for Reception, Year 1 & 2 as we will combine these to have one Infant Sports Day, again further details will be sent in due course. Years 3 & 4 remain the same as previous years - a morning of team activities and an afternoon of competitive athletics. The dates are
3rd July - all day - Years 3 & 4
5th July - morning - Reception/Years 1 & 2
10th July - all day - Years 5 & 6 at Lee Valley Athletics Centre
12th July Nursery Sports Day
Roblox Warning
Roblox is one of the most popular apps and games for children. On our recent child protection training we have been told of some concerns around this app. There are many fun games within this app but it is also open to inappropriate content, chat and exposes some children to random people on line and cyber-bullying. If your child uses Roblox, please be aware of the settings that can be changed to make it more safe. The game is rated 7+ with parental permission needed. Read this guide here
90th Anniversary Tea & Cakes
We are taking nominations for this special event on the 12th June. If you know a former pupil, member of staff or governor and would like us to invite them to our Tea & Cakes, please see the website to nominate them.
Ramadan
We are aware that the holy month of Ramadan starts last week. If your child is fasting please let the school know. Please click here for our policy.
Playground Equipment
As we install more play equipment please note that children are not allowed to play on the playground equipment at the start and end of school day. Please can you ensure that your child stays off the equipment and with you at all times. Thank you for your assistance.
Wrap Club
Bookings for Summer 2 are now being accepted. If you are booking in advance for the term you will receive a 10% discount. If you have any questions regarding this please contact the wrap email below. Please ensure that weekly bookings are made in a timely manner. Payments should be made on receipt of the booking confirmation letters which have been sent home in the children’s bags. Once the letter has been received please make your payment via ParentPay, if you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact Raglan Wrap via the email address below.
Cancellations are not permitted once a booking has been made as per the terms and conditions of provisions. If you have any queries please contact wrap@raglanschools.org. A reminder that children must be collected promptly by 6.00pm. Any late collections have be arranged beforehand and must be no later than 6.15pm. To contact wrap club during wrap hours please call 07841 455439.
Outstanding Debt
Please check your Parentpay account for outstanding debt. We ask that your school dinner account is always in credit.
If you have not paid your voluntary contribution for any trips or workshop please do so as soon as possible. The school cannot subsidise payments for trips. If contributions are not made, future trips may have to be cancelled. Also please ensure you have paid for any After School Club that your child attends.
Can you help?
As part of our Springtime project, we are looking to transform the Junior courtyard into a tranquil, outside garden space for our pupils to enjoy and explore as part of their curriculum. We have our planters ready .... all we need now are some plants, shrubs and flowers. If you are able to donate any items we would be very grateful. Thank you.

Free cycle training over half-term:
Cycle Enfield will once again be offering FREE half term holiday cycle skills for various age groups Tuesday 29th May – Friday 1st June. These free sessions are happening in 3 locations across the borough. This is the only opportunity for younger children (age 4-9) to receive training. RSA Weekly News
Quiz Night, Friday 18th May
Thanks to everyone that came along to the Quiz night and made it such an enjoyable evening. The reigning team were toppled from first place but put up a strong game, coming a close second. We covered Eurovision, sport, anagrams, royalty and many other topics. Thanks also to Mr Kelsey and Mrs Daly for putting on another great evening.
Special General Meeting on Wednesday, 23rd May at 8pm
Please come along to a Special General Meeting for the purpose of voting on the adoption of a new constitution. It will be held at the Living Room, 105 St Mark's Road, Bush Hill Park. We will then move into a regular meeting to plan for the summer fair.
CLASSLIST LAUNCH
Do you want to easily keep up to date with all the goings on at Raglan Schools? Then we have the perfect thing... sign up for Classlist. Classlist is a website or app based portal which will be used to communicate with the school community for all aspects of RSA Communications. From sharing important dates, asking questions, to taking sales of event tickets online as well as registering volunteers. It is free to sign up for and you can opt to share as much or little detail as you want. It's GDPR compliant and we as an RSA don't hold your information or share it with anyone. We will be using Classlist fully from Friday, 25th May. We are hosting a competition to see which class can get the most sign ups by 5pm on Friday, 25th May.

SUMMER FAIR, Friday, 29th June from 3pm
Don't forget the summer fair next month. We have lots of new things planned for this year including a petting zoo and teacup rides! ****INFORMATION WAS SENT HOME IN BOOK BAGS LAST WEEK. **** Well done to everyone that submitted an entry into our competition to find the front page of this year's summer brochure. We will be announcing the winner and runners up after half term.

Instrumental and Vocal lessons application forms Years 1-5
Application forms are now available from the School Office, alternatively you can download the form from www.enfield.gov.uk search Enfield Music Service. Application forms should be returned to the Enfield Music Service office by Friday 8th June.

Music clubs
Djembe drumming, Samba drumming, Chamber Choir and Brass clubs will continue after half term. All other music clubs will end after half term, resume in the Autumn term. If you would like your child join the Djembe or Samba drumming clubs at a reduced rate of £10 for the remainder of the term please contact the School Office by Friday 25th May.
Samba drumming: Mondays 3.20-4.20 for Years 3-6
Djembe drumming: Thursdays for Years 1-2
KS2 Concerts
Year 3 and Year 4 are nearing the end of their whole class instrumental programme and will be showcasing their achievements in their end of year concerts next term.

Boots Exchange
If your child needs a pair of astroturf, moulded or studded boots, they can grab a pair for free in the Yr 5/6 playground every Friday afternoon. Thank you so much to everyone that has donated a pair already. If you have any boots that no longer fit your children, we would be very grateful for any donations.
