Letter from Mr Kelsey

As we break for the holidays, I’d like to thank all parents and carers for your support and contributions to school over the last term. It was lovely to see so many of you over the last couple of weeks for all our performances, I thought the children did brilliantly well with some definite stars for the future! We have also been able to run visits and workshops thanks to your financial contributions, which have enriched the work the pupils have been doing.

We have also accomplished some great charity support with over £1500 for Children in Need and amazing fundraising for the RSA via the Smarties Challenge, Hamper Draw, Discos, Cards and Gifts and the Christmas Fayre. A big thank you to the RSA and supporters for all their hard work over the term raising funds for further development of the outdoor areas. The RSA kindly funded the end of term fun days including Mr Marvel for EYFS, KS1 and Years 3/4 and the prizes for the Big Quiz for Years 5 & 6.

Staffing Changes

We say goodbye to some staff today, firstly Cindy Hill (Nursery Assistant) who has worked in the Infant School for 17 years. I would like to thank her for all her hard work and contributions to the school. We also say thank you to some temporary staff that have been working with us since September including teaching assistants Miss Brown and Miss Ali.

In January we welcome some new staff including Mrs D Watson who will join the Key Stage 1 team as a Senior Teaching Assistant. We will also welcome five new teaching assistants Miss V Gowdie, Mrs V Nicholls, Miss L Bauka, Miss Beltran and Mr Williams.

Baby News - Congratulations!

I am pleased to share that this term Miss Hart (Music Teacher) and Miss Minolli (Teacher) both welcomed healthy baby girls and Mr Flett (Head of PE) also welcomed a baby girl to his family, just this week.

After-School Clubs

The details for our after-school clubs will now be released after the break, so watch out for the information and details on how to book online. Clubs begin in the week beginning 21st January.

Finally, I would like to say a huge thank-you to all the parents and carers who have continued to support the school by giving up their time. This includes helpers on our recent church trip, those who have helped on school visits, reading volunteers and in particular the continued support of those who help at RSA events. These events would not be able to run without the help of these incredible people, thank-you!

Have a lovely Christmas if you are celebrating and we will see the children again on Tuesday 8th January 2019.
