Important Parent Update
Public Health England have confirmed a case of COVID-19 within Raglan Junior School.
We have followed the national guidance and have identified all pupils and staff who may have come into contact with the infected person on Friday.
6 Members of staff and 9 pupils in Year 3 (who visited on Friday 4th September) have been told to self isolate for 14 days. This is a precaution to ensure we continue to reduce the risk to others and keep any possible infection contained. They have all been contacted and received a confirmation letter.
This is a single case centred and contained within in Year 3 and no other year groups are affected. Year 3 parents have been notified. The self isolation is a precaution to avoid an outbreak in the school.
This is not the start we would have wished for, but a reminder that the virus is still around and that we all have a part to play in following the guidelines set out. I understand that the person infected is feeling well within themselves and experiencing mild symptoms and we wish them well.
Having been informed of the positive test today, we have taken advice from Public Health England and carried out their recommendations.
The school will open as planned tomorrow and I will update you further in due course.
A Question & Answer pages has been added to our Back to School website where parents can post questions and we will answer them as soon as possible
