Parent Governor Elections

There are 12 parents nominated for the Infant School Election and 8 parents for the Junior School Election. It’s great to see so many parents wanting to be more involved in their school. You can find all the candidates’ personal statements on the website here.

On Thursday 17th May you will receive a paper letter from the school with your unique security code so you can vote online. If you are a parent of a child in the Infant School you are eligible to vote in the Infant School election and the same rule applies to the Junior School election. If you are a parent of a child in both , then you may vote in both elections.

Voting is open from Thursday 17th May for 8 days. Full details of how to vote will be in your letter. If you do not receive your letter by Friday, please contact the school. If you are unable to vote online, you can vote at the school office.


Bikeability was very popular and we are aware that some children were disappointed that they did not get the opportunity to take part.  We are hoping to schedule another course but be aware that there are other courses that parents and children can take part in as detailed below.

Bike holiday catch-up or refresher course:

Cycle Confident Bikeability training are running holiday catch-up or refresher courses for children and adults. Go onto www.cycleconfident.com to find out more.

Free cycle training over half-term:

Cycle Enfield will once again be offering FREE half term holiday cycle skills for various age groups  from Tuesday 29th May – Friday 1st June. These free sessions will take place in 3 locations across the borough. This is the only opportunity for younger children (age 4-9) to receive training. Summer Term After School Clubs

All After School Clubs have now been put onto ParentPay.  Please check your account and pay as necessary. Thank you for your patience.   Please ensure your child is collected from the after school club at the correct time. If you are over 10 minutes late your child will be taken to Raglan Wrap Club where you may incur a charge. For security and safety reasons parents are not allowed to wait on the premises until After School Clubs finish. If your child is attending an After School Club please collect them at the correct time. This information can be found on the clubs booklet - Summer Term.  

Reception Area Works

Reception Area works have commenced.  Infinite Play are installing new play equipment and resurfacing the area.  They expect this to take two weeks. The walk way from Amberley Road will be open as normal but there will be fencing up. In the week when the surfacing is going down, there may be a few restrictions, but we will let you know in advance if there are any disruptions.

Well-being week
Our Well-being week is scheduled for 9th to 13th July.  Throughout this week the children will be doing a range of activities linked to well-being. If you have any skills that you can offer during this week, then please contact the office. This could be anything including sewing, cooking, art & design or sports.

Half Term Camp

This half term Leslieess will be running a half term camp. Bookings for Tuesday to Friday can be made via the website leslieessltd.co.uk or email leslieessilfie@hotmail.co.uk. Activities for the week will be Nerf games, archery, fencing, football and performing arts. We look forward to seeing you there.

Summer weather

Please ensure your child comes to school dressed appropriately for our weather.  On hot sunny days children should have sun lotion applied before they come to school and they should bring a hat/cap.  They should always have a waterproof coat in school as they will go outside if it is not raining heavily. They should also have a bottle of water in school to keep them hydrated.

Playground Equipment

Children are not allowed to play on our playground equipment at the start and end of school day.  Please can you ensure that your child stays off the equipment and with you at all times. Thank you for your assistance.

Nursery Fees

Just a reminder that Nursery fees are due for payment by the 18th May. If you are unsure on your outstanding amount please contact the school office.

Wrap Club

Bookings for Summer 2 are now being accepted. If you are booking in advance for the term you will receive a 10% discount. If you have any questions regarding this please contact the wrap email below. Please ensure that weekly bookings are made in a timely manner. Payments should be made on receipt of the booking confirmation letters which have been sent home in the children’s bags. Once the letter has been received please make your payment via ParentPay, if you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact Raglan Wrap via the email address below.

Cancellations are not permitted once a booking has been made as per the terms and conditions of provisions.  If you have any queries please contact wrap@raglanschools.org.  A reminder that children must be collected promptly by 6.00pm. Any late collections have be arranged beforehand and must be no later than 6.15pm. To contact wrap club during wrap hours please call 07841 455439.  

Outstanding Debt

Please check your Parentpay account for outstanding debt. We ask that your school dinner account is always in credit.  

If you have not paid your voluntary contribution for any trips or workshop please do so as soon as possible. The school cannot subsidise payments for trips. If  contributions are not made, future trips may have to be cancelled.

Can you help?

As part of our Springtime project, we are looking to transform the Junior courtyard into a tranquil, outside garden space for our pupils to enjoy and explore as part of the curriculum.  We have our planters ready .... all we need now are some plants, shrubs and flowers. If you are able to donate any items we would be very grateful. Thank you.

Whitsun Holiday

The school is closed Monday 28th May to Friday 1st June.  Children return to school on Monday 4th June.


RSA Weekly News

Year 1 Disco, 18th May

All year 1 children are invited to a Disco in the Infant Hall on Friday, 18th May till 4:30pm.  It costs £3 and they will get a drink and a snack. They should give their money to the class teacher.  Remember on the day to send in their disco clothes in a plastic bag.

Quiz Night - Friday, 18th May at 7.30pm,

Tickets are on sale now from the office.  Maximum number of people per table is 8. Don't worry if you can't fill a table, we can connect you with others.  Tickets are £5/person. Bring your own drinks and nibbles.

Do you enjoy DIY???

If so, we have the perfect challenge for you....  We are looking for someone to make us a large wooden box that will look like a safe!

Special General Meeting - Wednesday, 23rd May at 8pm

Please come along to a Special General Meeting for the purpose of voting on the adoption of a new constitution.  It will be held at the Living Room, 105 St Mark's Road, Bush Hill Park.  We will then move into a regular meeting to plan for the summer fair.  

SUMMER FAIR - Friday, 29th June from 3pm

Don't forget the summer fair next month.  We have lots of new things planned for this year including a petting zoo and teacup rides!



Raglan Music News

Instrumental and Vocal lessons application forms Years 1-5

Application forms are now available from the School Office, alternatively you can download the form form www.enfield.gov.uk search Enfield Music Service. Application forms should be returned to the Enfield Music Service office by Friday 8th June.

Music clubs

Djembe drumming,  Samba drumming, Chamber Choir and Brass clubs will continue after half term.  All other music clubs will end  after half term, and resume in the Autumn term.

If you would like your child join the Djembe or Samba drumming clubs please contact the School Office.

Enfield Music Service Piano Competition

Schools are invited to submit entries for this year’s EMS Piano Competition for children Grade 2 and above. Entry forms are available from Mrs Ojokor/Miss Hart and from the School Office.  The final will take place on Wednesday 11th July, 7.30pm at the Dugdale Theatre, Thomas Hardy House, 39 London Road, Enfield EN2 6DS. The winner will receive a £50 prize and £100 for their school. There will also be a runner up prize for each category. The competition is open to all pupils regardless of whether they learn with an EMS tutor or take private lessons .  Entries must be returned to your school by Monday 21st May at the latest. Auditions will take place on 15th , 21st and 22nd June.

Boots Exchange
If your child needs a pair of astroturf, moulded or studded boots, they can grab a pair for free in the Yr 5/6 playground every Friday afternoon.  Thank you so much to everyone that has donated a pair already. If you have any boots that no longer fit your children, we would be very grateful for any donations.
