90th Anniversary

90th Anniversary Tea & Cakes

Ninety years ago in 1928,  The Raglan School opened its doors, the first school to be founded by Edmonton's Education Committee. Infants were admitted in 1929 and a separate Infant School was built in 1934. Extensions were later made to both schools, where the total attendance was 571 in 1932. In 1973 there were 695 juniors and 485 infants on the roll.

In this anniversary year we would like to mark the occasion with a special afternoon of Tea & Cakes on Tuesday 26th June. Our three choirs and some soloists will perform for our special guests who will be treated to tea and a selection of cakes. We will also have on display a range of photos from the archives!

Our special guests will be drawn from a variety of people including:

  • Former pupils who attended (1928-1978);

  • Former members of staff and governors;

  • Key members of the current school community and local dignitaries;

If we have space we will also open it up to

  • Grandparents of pupils in the choirs.

Parents/Carers should not feel too left out as you will hear the children sing at the upcoming Summer Concerts next week.

We do need some help in finding our special guests, so we are inviting you to nominate anybody who fits any of the categories above. Space is going to be limited so once we have received nominations, we will draw up a guest list and issue some invitations.

To nominate someone please complete the following online form, you will need to provide

  • Their Name

  • Their Address for the Invitation

  • The Category they fit in

  • Their connection with the school

  • Your name and contact details
